Low-cost airline Transavia belonging to the Air France-KLM group will start its service from Riga Airport the next summer season, offering two weekly flights between Riga and Paris (Orly Airport). Transavia will fly from Riga to Orly twice a week – on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The service from Riga will be launched on 29 March 2020.
A new Business and Innovation Park Mežgarciems is being developed in Latvia, only 25 km from the capital Riga. The territory includes 11 building plots and eight of them will be auctioned by the Carnikava Municipality in October, Mezgarciems representatives informed BC. The construction of infrastructure and necessary communications in the territory is planned to be completed before 2020.
The China (Ningbo)-Latvia Cross-border E-commerce Hub was officially launched in Riga on May 20. The hub is expected to promote trade and investment between China and Latvia. State secretary of the Ministry of Economics Eriks Eglitis forecast at the opening ceremony that economic cooperation between the two countries could reach €1bn in the coming years, according to a statement from the agency.
